Staff Biography

Linda Shui, violinist, finished Bachelor of Art (Music) at The Hong Kong Batist University, majoring in violin and Music Education. Before entering HKBU, She had won the Championship in St. Catharine’s School for Girls (Kwun Tong) Music Competition. Shui had rich experience in giving recital and ensemble performance. She has been invited to give solo performance in The 4th, 5th and 6th Sai Kung District Oustanding Student Awarding Ceremony, The 22nd Annual Performance of Hong Kong International Institute of Music, and Hong Kong Baptist University Repertory Orchestra Annual Concert. Shui also had participated in many orchestral performance such as: Kwai Tsing Phiharmonic Orchestra – Celebrating the 200th Anniversiry of Franz Liszt, and the Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra.

 

Miss Shiu has more than 6 years of violin teaching experience, students aged from 4 to 20, of those are from pre-grade children up to grade 8 students. Miss Shiu emphasizes teaching in line with the ability of students: On one hand, focusing more on singing the melody before performing the melody by instruments for young-aged students; and on the other hand, teaching more Etudes to strengthen students’ technical development and performing skills.
