Chan Ka Man Tiffany began her double bass study at the age of 9 with Mr. Lam Ming Cheung and Mr. Chan Fai. She has won several double bass solo awards in Hong Kong Schools Music Festival during her young age.
Chan has obtained Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honors) in Music, concentrating Double bass performance and pedagogy at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2013. After that, she continued her study in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as visiting student, majoring in double bass under Mr. Eddie Zong Xiaoqian, the former Principal Double Bass of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2012-2013, she was awarded he HKSAR Goverment Talent Development Scholarship.
During her study in HKBU and HKAPA, Tiffany was selected to play in several Master Classes and coached by many world-renowned double bass players, including Prof. Joel Quarrington, Principal Double Bass of London Symphony Orchestra; Prof. Luis Cabrera, the Principal Double Bass of Netherland Philharmonic Orchestra and Professor of London Guildhall School of Music and Drama; Prof. Jeff Bradetich, the renowned double bass soloist and Director of double bass program of University of North Texas; Prof. Benedikt Hübner, the Principal Double Bass of Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and Prof. Catalin Rotaru, the renowned double bass soloist and Professor of Arizona State University.
Also Chan has been the Principal Double bass of HKBU Symphony Orchestra (BUSO) and Collegium Musicum Hong Kong (CMHK) since 2011. She was selected to join the Europe performance tour with CMHK in 2012 summer and the year after a China performance tour with BUSO. In 2012, Tiffany was selected to join the NJO summer academy (chamber orchestra group) in the Netherlands. She also performed with the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra during Shanghai Expo 2011.
As an active orchestral player in Hong Kong, Chan has taken part in many orchestras. She has been a freelance double bass player of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, Pan Asia Orchestra, Six Arts Orchestra, Global Symphony Orchestra and the New Philharmonia of Hong Kong, and part-time performer in Music Office during her study. Chan was also being selected to participate and perform in the first year held "Share the stage" with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Lorin Maazel in 2013.
After her graduation, she is currently working as full-time Tutti Double Bass in the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, part-time double bass instructor in Music Office and instrumental teacher in various primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
