Charles Cheung was born in Hong Kong, at the age of 3, Charles’s sensibility to imitate music was discovered by his parents and he began his piano studies at 4. Charles currently attends the Hong Kong Academy for performing Arts undertaking BMus with Miss Amelia Chan. He has attained distinction results in both performance Diplomas form London Trinity College of Music ATCL (Recital) and LTCL (Recital) before he was accepted into HKAPA.

 

Among Charles many accomplishments, he has obtained 13 awards from Hong Kong Schools Music Festival during the years of 2000 to 2012 and Hong Kong Generation Next Arts. Charles is a splendid accompanist. He has rich accompaniment experiences that he began to play in a piano trio and ensemble practice during his early school life. He was in recognition of achieving “Outstanding Performance Award” by performing a piano trio repertoire of Beethoven.

 

Charles believes patience and enjoyable process are essential factors to enhance students’ abilities and interests. In a bid to nurture students being an all-rounded learner, Charles would strengthen students’ performing interpretation not only in terms of practical techniques, but with thorough musical, theoretical and historical understanding.
